Schoonschip runs currently on an Atari ST and can be bought for $400 from
Topsoft,Inc 2300 Woodside, Ann Arbor, 48104 Michigan.
Using a hard disk with the Atari gives it a speed that is about 60% of a
Cyber 173, which translates to about 5% of a 7600.
The program comes in a ROM cartridge with a manual that is adequate for
persons who already know the language.
In a sample trace calculation I managed to pack more than 200,000 terms on
disk ( 8 Mbytes partition ) before the program started to complain about
lack of memory. So most programs will run normally. There are a few
compatibility problems as the new version is strictly case sensitive.
