>We are looking for any information concerning the availability of SCHOONSCHIP >originaly written by M. Veltman (CERN PREPRINT 1967) and H. Strubbe >(Computer phys. comm. 8 1-30) for a CDC computer. >This program is aimed for symbolic evaluation of algebraic expressions and >is quite suited for Feymann diagramm computations. >This package is not anymore maintained on CDC to our knowledge. Schoonschip runs currently on an Atari ST and can be bought for $400 from Topsoft,Inc 2300 Woodside, Ann Arbor, 48104 Michigan. Using a hard disk with the Atari gives it a speed that is about 60% of a Cyber 173, which translates to about 5% of a 7600. The program comes in a ROM cartridge with a manual that is adequate for persons who already know the language. In a sample trace calculation I managed to pack more than 200,000 terms on disk ( 8 Mbytes partition ) before the program started to complain about lack of memory. So most programs will run normally. There are a few compatibility problems as the new version is strictly case sensitive. Jos Vermaseren NIKHEF-H
