[comp.databases] instruction

UH2@PSUVM.BITNET (11/11/86)

I teach DBMS to MIS undergrads in a shool of business. They are
fairly competent, having had 4 or 5 comp sci courses of various
types. Along with theory, I'd like to expose them to some
      systems--hierarchical, network, relational, the usual
      bag of tricks.

We run IBM cms, and have lotsa msdos micros, many with Hard Disks
      and lotsa memory.

      Can anyone recommend some software?
Basically, I'd like stuff that exercises the key concepts
without overburdening us with the bells and whistles.
(Truthfully, I am not precisely sure what I want--what are
      your experiences?)
