I would like to make a list of papers on query-optimization for relational
DBMSs (distributed as well as non-distributed). Please mail me any pointers
regarding the same. The papers need not be on query-optimization alone,
as long as they contain something significant on query-optimization. I will
post the list to this group if there is enough interest. Thanks.

This covers recent work in QO for distributed and centralized relational systems, multiple data models, CAD systems, database machines, etc. etc. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fairly state-of-the-art overview, at roughly a grad-student level, of query optimization techniques and research. Bear in mind that I have an inherant bias as one of the editors of the book ...
