I just bought RBase Sys V to write what I thought to be a rather simple
application. A couple questions for people familiar with RBase.
1. Has anybody written an application to handle ledger transactions for
small offices. It should keep things like address, family members,
charges/payments to accounts, etc.?
2. Do you know of any good books that discuss this? Microrim offers 30
days of "free" support. All this means is they tell you to buy more
of their guides, books, papers and an expensive support contract. They
have yet to give me anything but a headache.
to handle transactions? For example, there are streams of charges and
payments. Is their current balance just the sum of charges less the sum
of payments, or should I use a previous balance field to keep track
of the balance? I would imagine doing those sums when doing billing can
chew up some time.
