Regarding RTI's Ingres product: I would like to clarify my earlier posting, it has been pointed out to me I made a false statement when I wrote (regarding RTI's tech support group): > This is what > results from support organizations which are completely separate from the > product engineering teams. ^^^^^^^^^^ With the wonders of the US telephone system and the tremendous advances made in Networking technology, its hard to be "COMPLETELY SEPARATE" from anything, so what I should have written was: This is what results from support organizations which are separate from the product engineering teams. Thanks to diligent Net-readers for pointing out my error. Also of interest to those who have been following the issue of protection of user objects, I heard that the "FRONT END" system catalogs will be properly protected in the next major release of ingres (Thats version 6.0, likely to be out some time next calendar year) Doug Manatt LLNL
