Hi!, I am trying to interface decnet to Ingres, that is some how trying to put decnet packet in Ingres tables directly, only method I know is to keep a process running (under VMS this could be a ABF application) which takes data from Decnet mail-server process directly, and then do a SQL insert in the table. I think there must be better ways to load a table than this. The data rate is about 20 packets (512 bytes) per minute. Ingres uses VMS mailboxes to communicate between the front end and backend process, and since all database activities are performed by the backend process, if I am not worried about data integrity, security etc. I should be able to pass the data directly to the back-end process, that is if I knew format's etc. Has anybody done this before, I will be thankful if some body can show a better way to do this. --Tarkeshwar Shrimali mandrill.CWRU.Edu -csnet mandrill.CWRU.Edu -usenet -- Gone fishin'
