                               Logical Log Files

In some DBMS's logical log files are maintained for database
recovery as compared to before and after log files. I think
the main difference is that in logical log file, you just
record the database operations rather then the copy of the data
before or after the database operation.

Can anyone point out to some good reference dicussing pros and
       cons of logical log files.

I will really apprciate any kind of information.

          Thanks
