There seems to be a greater interest in this newsgroup with Informix products
rather that those from Unify Corporation.
Is there any interest in forming a Unify/Accell users group that can
communicate via 'mail'? If so, I'd gladly volunteer to handle the assembly and
distribution of the data.
In addition to my intense interest in both Unify and Accell, I write the
"/xenix" column for UNIX/World.

there are at least 20 people interested in the above subject.

I can't speak for the Unify/Accell group, but as the "mailling address collector" of the Informix Group, I can say that my intent is not to keep anything secret. The main purpose of our group is to allow fellow Informix Users to know who one another is, and to keep down postings by being able to E-mail Informix specific questions to users with similar hardware or operating systems. Any items that come to my attention that appear to be of a general nature that hasn't already been posted, I pass on to the net. I agree that cross fertilization is good, and for that reason I also subscribe to the Unify/Accell group even though it is unlikely that my company will purchase it in the near future. Once again, I apologize for the delay, but this year seems like it has
been one disaster after another. The latest was a direct lightning strike
on my residence and office that blew a hole in my roof and fried everything
electronic (approx $10,000 damage). That occurred on Sept 2nd and I just
rec'd a check from Safeware (the computer insurers that advertise in BYTE,
etc.).
If you ever have an opportunity to do business with them, don't!
In addition to taking nearly 2 months to pay the claim I just rec'd notice
of non-renewability -- as if a direct lightning strike is my fault!
Here is the information that I have accumulated and updated. We have 8 new
participants and their columns are below.
You may note that I still only have minimal information for certain users.
Therefore, please provide me (at ihnp4!sys1!bilanc!rab) with the following:

evaluation period, so....

for all Unify and Accell users is a tip list. Users could share
bugs (or quirks) and ways which they have found to work around
