Prior to the ANSI committe X3H2 standardizing on the relational DBMS language SQL, a language for network DBMS's, named NDL, was adopted. I was wondering how many DBMS's support NDL. Is NDL a token standard, or was it widely accepted? Was a validation suite to measure conformance ever constructed for NDL? How portable were applications written in NDL?
