[net.unix-wizards] Remote File Systems

jdi@ucbvax.ARPA (John D. Irwin) (02/05/85)

Sorry for yet another request for information in unix-wizards, but
mail to the people I was given pointers to is going to /dev/null.

Anyway, I've installed the IBIS Distributed file processor here
(courtesy of Purdue), and was wondering what other packages are
available.

Ibis has the advantages of not requiring kernel modifications and
running via simple ethernet daemons. However, this also means it's slow
and thrashes one's ethernet. So I was wondering what others have tried
to get around these problems without changing 80% of the 4.2 kernel.
