Judging by many postings to Usenet, most people wouldn't know what a distribution line was if it smacked them in the face, so I shouldn't expect you to realise that the Rest of The World (my capitals) should even dare to adopt other conventions. Not only do you try and rent us houses in New York, and sell us concert tickets in Calafornia, but aparently Ashton Tate want us all to use the American Way when typing in our dBASE III + dates. There is a command SET DATE BRITISH which allows use to use british type dates, once we have started dBASE, but it does not seem to be possible to insert the command DATE = BRITISH into the CONFIG.DB file. Is this a deliberate policy? Couldn't AT be bothered? Do AT think of Britain in the same way as Maggie Thatcher thinks of Scotland? Not particularly worth bothering about? Or am I missing something? A few :-)'s just in case ..... Dougie
