[comp.databases] Northern California UNIFY/ACCELL User's Group

itkin@cup.portal.com (05/15/88)

Just taking an opportunity to remind all of you (particularly those in the
San Francisco Bay Area) that there IS a Unify/ACCELL users' group in this
area. We meet the first Wednesday evening of each month. Convergent
Technologies has generously provided facilities (Zanker and Plumeria), and
we've had some interesting and useful presentations and discussions.

At our last meeting Bob Speray, a well known consultant in this area,
did a presentation on terminals and termcap. It was outstanding and most
of the attendees felt that they learned a great deal. Next month (6/1/88),
we will have a follow up presentation on the tricks to writing termcap
entries for Unify and ACCELL.

Meetings are open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend. We've
had a good mix of people, including independent consultants, representatives
of companies using the products internally, and resellers. We've also
had a representative of Unify at each meeting to bring us up to date on
the company and their products.

We are publishing a monthly newsletter. Starting with the next issue,
the newsletter will include tips and code fragments for use with Unify
and ACCELL.

Membership in the group is currently $50/year, including the newsletter.
Initially, we are asking for payment for the first six months ($25) to
cover expenses until we figure out what it's costing to run the group.

Please feel free to attend the next meeting. If you have questions,
suggestions, or something to offer for the newsletter, contact
