I have been asked to post the following for a friend who does not have access to the net. If you have any questions or comments, please contact the following address rather than this account. Njai Kornatowski Empress Software Inc. 250 Bloor Street E. Toronto, Ontario M4W 1E6 tel: +1-(416)-922-1743 uucp .....!utcsri!rhodnius!njai ----------------------------------------------------------------- My name is Njai Kornatowski and I am the Canadian Representative for EMPRESS. Although I don't have direct access to Unix News, I am aware of the discussion regarding EMPRESS pricing. In the past, EMPRESS (formerly Rhodnius), has always quoted in U.S. funds. As one discussion participant kindly pointed out, it's because a large share of our business resides in the U.S. When a customer wished to be quoted in Canadian funds, we did so, converting at the prevailing rate. We do indeed have a Canadian price list and have had one for a year. Our pricing policies are quite standard and match with those generally accepted in our industry. To give you some background, EMPRESS software was founded in 1979 out of University of Toronto. The original name was Rhodnius, changed to EMPRESS in 1987. We have over 5,000 licenses in force and won the Canadian Government Award for Business Excellence in 1987. Our company continues to prosper in a very competitive field in Canada as well as abroad. I'd be most happy to provide any further information that's desired and can be reached at (416)-922-1743 in Toronto. Thank you Njai ------------------------------------------------------------------
