We are developing a Unify/Accell based application for the payroll system here at the University. A requirement of this system is to provide audit trail facilities for data entry, internal auditor's, etc.. Has anyone any experience in this area to offer suggestions/solutions. We have developed a utility that reads the Unify transactie log file and converts it into ASCII. As it also translates the 'field numbers' into field names, so it is not effected by database configurations. It produces records like: <date/time> <pid> <transaction> <user> <table_name.field_name> DATA DATA is either the data in ascii format, or the keyword DELETED It is doable this way, and you dont have to include code in your ACCELL scripts. And you also log 'add hoc' updates done with SQL, and even catch C programs using Host Language Interface. The only problem is that it is a commercial product and I cannot post it. A source licence is not that expensive though, please mail me for more info.
