I am looking for database toolkits for an embedded Unix application. The data is short lived, at the most sticking around for 48 hours, but shared among many users during that time. Currently we are looking at dbVista. If anyone has used dbVista in an embedded Unix application, I would appreciate good/bad things about using it. Also if you are using another tool kit that you like or dislike, please let me know. We've ruled out packages like Oracle or Ingres as being to much. Especially to much royalties.
