We would be interested in reading comments in this group on 4GL Application Generators. We are considering ACCELL from UNIFY, which now will generate applications based on the UNIFY 2000, ORACLE, SYBASE, and SCO INTEGRA rdbm systems. We have some experience with EMPRESS, FoxBASE + and dbVISTA. We REALLY like dbVISTA but the development cycle is far too long. The same goes for earlier versions of EMPRESS though we will be looking at their 4GL. One of the applications we have under development involves the use of BAR CODE READERS (wand type, hardware not yet selected) and CD-ROM (likely HIGH-SIERRA format).
