I have worked some on text databases like BRS Search, that are very good about storing documents that can later be searched rapidly, matching documents found and displayed. I would like to find one, preferably in source and public domain that I can use at my new place of work. Some of the qualities that I am looking for are... Able to store ascii text document of variable length through a DBLOAD type process that automatically indexes MOST words for later search. Search criteria can be based on words or phrases and search VERBS or adjatives like AND or OR or NEXTTO. Multiple databases of text can be defined, viewed and selected for work or load. Searches can be across databases. DBLOADS/DISPLAYS can specify formatting tools. Text can be updated from within the database and have the results automatically update the indexes pertinent to that document. Any ideas? The above is just a wish list, and a text database that comes close to most of the above would be suitable.
