[comp.databases] ORACLE fortran interface libraries

jstetson@bbn.com (Jan Stetson) (05/12/89)

I'm an ORACLE novice with an odd question.

For reasons to peculiar to detail, we would like to link with
the fortran version of the ORACLE libraries rather than the
c version. I find that while we have a library called libocic.a
which contains various ORACLE functions I need, we do not seem to have
a corresponding fortran library. The library I find in the fortran
directory is called libsql.a and contains various functions I don't need.
(There is a corresponding libsql.a in the c directory as well.)
I can't find a fortran version of the ORACLE functions I'm looking
for anywhere.

Perhaps we didn't buy the fortran interface (the purchase was
long ago and far away), but if that's the case why do we have
a fortran libsql.a?

If this rings a bell for anyone, please help me out.

Thanks,
