I've previously posted to comp.databases to attempt to find some connection to other users of db-VISTA or MDBS post-relational and network model databases. I've gotten zero response. (Surely you've seen their ads in Unix Today!, DBMS mag, Unix World and other mags.) Does this mean that my news dissappears into the big bit bucket at the end of the telephone line or that nobody on this net uses this database? I've since found out that over 5000 copies of db_vista have been sold to developers. Among these are many national firms who by themselves have hundreds maybe thousands of systems installed using this software. Are none of you on the net? Since vista runs on VMS, ULTRIX, UNIX V, BSD 4.2, Sun OS, DOS, OS/2, Xenix etc etc and folks like MAACO and various fast food chains use it nationally, why don't you drop me a note - e-mail would do. Others listed as current users: ARCO, AT&T, EDS, NASA, Fed Express etc etc. Why is there such utter silence? Don't real users talk on the net? My questions have to do with general things as to how large have folks built their DB's? How many data sets? Response time. The kind of stuff that's tough to know until you've been there. I've already ordered the system but it would be nice to make contact with 'somebody' out there that has already had success. In the meantime I'll make some more phonecalls to users in person. But I'd sure like to start a little private mailing list on this product. Talk to me. Please? Fred Rump icdi10!fr@cdin-1.uu.net -- This is my house.
