For the interested, there is a new book out on OO and OODBMS: _Object-Oriented Concepts, Databases and Applications_, edited by Won Kim and Frederick H. Lochovsky. It's a collection of papers that covers several of the major areas mentioned in the title. I haven't read it yet, but it looks pretty good. Hal Render render@cs.uiuc.edu
