Is there a problem with using shared memory and semaphores in a Pro*C program ? I have an application which is divided into a server and several clients. The purpose of the server is to access the ORACLE database on behalf of the clients. The communication between the server and the client used to be done across our LAN (Towernet/XNS). Recently I changed the server so that it uses shared memory and semaphores to communicate with the clients. This is when the trouble started !. I now get all sorts of messages when I access the database. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. I often get error message [3106: fatal two-task communication protocol error] So my question is; does anybody out there know of any problems with using shared memory and semaphores in a Pro*C program ?. I'm running version 5.1.17.4 of ORACLE on a NCR Tower whith UNIX V.2++ -- Steinar Overbeck Cook, Fellesdata a.s, P.O.
