We have Oracle Financials Package (release 4.0 with patch to 4.0.4) running on a VMS machine (5.1-b) and Oracle version 6.0.26.7.0, and SQL*Forms 2.3.2. We have had no end of problems with this combination. Although the finacials part of this package has no "fatal" bugs remaining, it is still buggy and the support of this product, has been poor at best. I have tried developing an application under with Application Foundation providing the user interface support. Granted this was my first experience with forms (although I have written a great deal of Pro*C), I had only one problem after another. Corportate support (standard) was of little help since my questions were "unusual", "more advanced than the level we are trained for" etc. I started knocking on every and any door I could (as a result I have many phone numbers and names, mail me if you want some) to get my answers. As of this morning, we are giving up using the product because it is unfit, and with 3.0 forms coming out soon (so they claim), there will be a continued period of buggy code. I was able to break their code time and time again. How did this stuff every ship? I would be interested in other people's experience. How many out there that have the financials actually DEVELOP under it? What has your experience been. Any comments would be appreciated.
