I am teaching an undergraduate course in Data Bases next semester, and would like to have my students code at least one program using a hierarchical DBMS. Unfortunately, I can't find a DL/1, IMS, ADABASE, etc anywhere on campus. Does anyone know of an inexpensive product that I could use? Doesn't have to be a production system...even just a driver to check some artificial request block and return appropriate codes/data would be fine. Execution environment could be DOS, Unix (V or BSD), VM, maybe even MVS, VMS. That order of preference. Any ideas??? Your help would be appreciated (by me and by 90 students).
