TITLE Object-oriented systems emerge: early versions considered
           predecessors of '90s mainframe systems.
 SOURCE Computerworld v22 n8 p25(2) 1988 Feb 22
ABSTRACT Two software companies, Servio Logic Corp (Beaverton, OR) and
Ontologic Inc (Billerica, MA) develop object-oriented information
management systems. Cullinet Software, as well as other software
publishers, are believed to be working on products that add
object-oriented features to mainframe products. Servio Logic Corp
introduces the Gemstone system for the DEC VAX minicomputer. The
product is available immediately. Ontologic Inc says its Vbase
1.0 will be available in Apr 1988.
