A while ago I asked whether anyone knew how to compel Microsoft Works to print leading zeroes in a numeric field (specifically a five-digit zip code field). Since I received three requests to post a summary of responses, here they are: o Three requests to post a summary of responses. That's all. Thanks a pack, you lazy bums. Seriously, one requester did mention that this was a known problem, and was even discussed in a recent issue of PC Magazine -- a reference that I have failed to find. I am now reduced to hacking the .WDB file format and writing a format-specific (yuck) C program to plug a " character in front of every zip code. If anyone is interested in the results of this grisly approach -- or has a better idea (one can always hope) -- let me know. ### T.
