AP news wire apparently reported on Wednesday, February 7 that Ashton-Tate had recalled copies of dBASE IV pending a bug fix release. This is completely untrue, and AP has agreed to print a retraction. Our marketing people consider this an opportunity to point out that dBASE IV continues to be the best-selling microcomputer database program currently and ever. The product, as it stands, has won numerous awards (and a few brickbats, in this newsgroup particularly :-) and is undoubtedly an industry leading software product, like it or not. The soon-to-be-released version 1.1 will solidify this position by eliminating the remaining known problems. Hope no one minds my use of the bandwidth, but AP's bandwidth is considerably higher and I'd sure appreciate it if you'd spread the word. Thanks. /alastair/
