Does anyone know where I can get information on Gemstone. All I know about it is that it is an object oriented DBMS. I'm looking for a vendor name and address, review articles, or comments from anyone who has had experience with it. Phil Geller (geller@bnrmtv.UUCP) asked for some information on GemStone. Here goes: GemStone is an object-oriented database management system available from: Servio Logic Development Corporation 15025 S.W. Koll Parkway, Bldg 1-A Beaverton, OR 97006 (503) 644-4242 Monty Williams would be a good contact; he can direct you to the right Servio people to answer your questions. Let me take this golden opportunity to shamelessly tout my own work. Just days ago, my comprehensive review of object-oriented technology rolled off the presses. _Leaders in Object Technology_ was commissioned and published by technology and industry analysis firm D.H. Brown Associates. It explains the impact of object-oriented software (including databases), and compares in detail a number of commercially available systems. To find out more: Jonathan Eunice D.H. Brown Associates Axe Castle 400 Benedict Avenue Tarrytown, New York 10591 914-631-7859 PS: I will post a brief description of GemStone within a few days.
