We're a medium sized shop of C programmers, who have traditionally used Informix C Isam for our data base needs. Our corporate offices have asked us to look into Clipper, so I'd appreciate any help people can give me... What are the advantages of Clipper? We program on both IBM PC's and Unix machines (Plexus and Pyramid), is there are port of Clipper available in the Unix world? How fast is Clipper? Does it include a C programming interface? Since we're a C shop, are there going to be any "gotchas" we need to look out for? And finally... do you *like* Clipper? Why or why not? What does it do for you that other packages don't? And what other packages have you used? Lot's of questions... if I can get *any* answers I'd really appreciate it. Please email your responses.
