[comp.databases] Database programming survey

haverlan@boulder.Colorado.EDU (HAVERLAND MARC BRADLEY) (06/12/90)

This is a survey for people who regularly or occasionally program
in a dialect of the dBase language or other database languages, and
people who do a significant amount of database programming in any
other environments.

My purpose in this survey is to gather information on the database
environments in use by programmers, not end-users using dBase,
RBase, etc. in an application environment.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey.

1. What environments do you use? (Dbase, Clipper, Foxpro,
     others?)

2. Of your dBase language work, how much of it is under MS-DOS?
     What other environments?

3. Do you use data entry screen designers, report generators,
     debuggers, integrated development environments, interpreters,
     etc? Which ones?

4. Do you use C or other language libraries that provide dBase
compatibility and the ability to use dBase data files? Which
     products do you use?

5. Do you do database programming in other languages that is not
related to or compatible with any dBase dialect or file
     structure?

6. What tools do you use when programming in other languages that
you don't use for dBase programming? Would you use similar
tools in your dBase programming if they were available,
     satisfactory, etc.? Which ones?

7. Do you mix a dBase dialect with C or other languages?
