I am working on project that was originally written in English and is now being sold to non-English speaking countries. We use some Informix sperform forms. The problem is that Informix does not have an international version and the menus on the forms remain in English (as well as the characters entered to chose a menu item) even if all the field entries are translated into another language. One way to have the menus and error messages appear in another language is to alter the the file perf.iem which seems to define the text for the forms and replace the English text with something else. I haven't tried it yet, but I imagine with a little tweaking I can get it to work. The problem remains in the interpreting of the characters entered for the menu (like 'Q' for Query, 'U' for update, etc.). I'm not sure where to change things for that to work (maybe even in the sperform executable). I admit this is quite kludgy, but I can't think of any better method (given that I have to use Informix). So, has anyone done this before, or have any suggestions, or have access to the source code so they can tell me what to change?
