[comp.databases] Unify's Open Systems Application Development Conference

itkin@mrspoc.Transact.COM (Steven M. List) (07/11/90)

By now, I'm hoping that everyone has at least HEARD about the Unify
sponsored Open Systems Application Development Conference (OSAD).
If not, then one of my first questions is answered! :^>~

I was curious about the response of the rest of the community (I am
pretty sure about the responses of myself and the rest of my company).
Does anyone have anything to say/share about their reactions to:

1. The brochure (or whatever you might call it)
2. The "tracks"
3. The theme
4. Do you have any interest in attending (let's ignore the cost for
    now)?
5. What do you think of the cost?
6. If a price break were offered to Unify Users Group members (any of the
regional/national/international groups), would you consider attending
    if you hadn't been interested?
7. If you are a member/officer/representative of a Unify Users Group,
would you be interested in participating in a special International
    Users Group meeting?

In case it weren't obvious, I'm interested in working with Unify and the
other Users Groups around the world in establishing an International (or
at least National) Users Group Council or Users Group. I believe I can
Unify's support in some of this (it WOULD be to their advantage, wouldn't
it?). But it's of no use if none of the other UUG representatives are
interested.

So... Go ahead and post a response to this or Email to me. I will use
the results in my discussions with Unify. And particularly let me know
if the answers to any of the above questions require some involvement from
Unify (like 6 & 7)!
