Can anyone advise me on the useability and features of report generation facilities in RDBMS's? We're looking to use this system in a performance application for network management. Probably Oracle is the RDBMS I'll use but other systems such as Ingres, Sybase ... should be considered. Can they be accessed via an embedded programmatic interface ( or is this a silly question anyway?).
