We are looking seriously at Informix products and wonder about the various database engines that are available. The latest Online Engine seems to be rather expensive in certain environments ... Can anybody comment on these engines with respect to capability and speed ? I am also interested in any experiences, good/bad that anyone has had with other Informix products as well as tech support. Wingz anyone ?? Is it as great as people say ??? The real estate demo with digitized photos and voice recordings was quite impressive. You can scan an object and define a pointer in your database that point to the BLOB (Binary Large OBject) and retrieve it like any other database field.
