[comp.databases] Mac <--> IBM-PC dbms

klefstad@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (Sue Klefstad) (08/02/90)

We are looking for a relational dbms that both our Mac and IBM-PC
users will be happy with. We need file compatability so that either
machine can manipulate the same database file on our LAN server.

I'd greatly appreciate hearing about what software other sites are
using and how satisfied they are with the packages.

Please email me and if there's sufficient interest, I'll summarize.
Thank you.

Sue,
	Have you looked at Foxsoftware's product FOXPRO (IBM), and
	FOXMAC(MAC's). Code generated on the IBM side is suppose to
	be able to cross over to the MAC side with very little change,
	but the code generated on the MAC side will need to be "fixed"
	due to the graphical nature of the MAC.
