Someone recently asked for references on OODBMSs: 1. There are two books in the ACM Frontier Series published by Addison-Wesley that cover OO topics. One is titled "Object-Oriented Concepts, Applications and Databases" and is edited by Won Kim and F Lochovsky. The other title is something like "Advances in Database Programming Languages" and is edited by Francois Bancilhon and someone else. It also covers OO concepts. 2. There is a collection of papers on Object-oriented Databases edited by David Maier and Stan Zdonik and published by Morgan Kaufman. 3. The September 1990 issue of IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering has an invited article by Won Kim on OODBs: Definition and Research Directions. A year back, they had a special issue on database prototypes including some OODBMSs. 4. Versant (an OODBMS company) publishes a newsletter that has information on OODBMS. (I forget their e-mail address) 5. Ontologic (yaoodbmsc, formerly VBASE) has some reports on OODBMSs. Hope this helps. *swfc
