[comp.databases] Concurrency Control in Extended Database Systems

vinay@ai.toronto.edu ("Vinay K. Chaudhri") (08/11/90)

I am looking for some references to any work done in the area of
"Concurrency Control for Extended Databases". By "Extended Databases"
I mean : Object Oriented Databases, Deductive Databases, Knowledge
Base Management Systems or the like. If any work is going on in this
area in your organization or anything that you are aware, I would
appreciate if you could provide me references.

Thank you very much.

There has been much recent work on semantic concurrency control. See
the ACM book on OO Concepts co-edited by Won Kim. There are some good
intro articles in there. You might also want to look at the 1990 SIGMOD
proceedings on Semantic-based Multi-level CC (page 163 by Badri and
Krithi). Recent OOPSLA.
