[comp.databases] Starting SQLFORMS

lac@titan.tsd.arlut.utexas.edu (Lloyd Chalfant) (08/30/90)

We have just installed SQLForms 3.0. We are using RDBMS 6.0.27. We can
get into the interactive mode. However, every form name we enter is
flagged as invalid. We are operating under VMS 5.3.

What is a valid form name? The manual says it is a valid Oracle name
which also satisfies the VMS naming conventions. We are using names
 such as LAC1, LAC1.FRM, LAC1.INC.

Is there a DB administrator action which must first be taken? Our
 username/password has DBA authorization.

If you are a SQL*FROMS 2.3 customer you will have to convert your
forms using the 2.3 to 3.0 converter supplied with your 3.0 kit, then you
will have to re-generate your forms, in order to get them running on 3.0.

If you have having other problems, please contact your Oracle support
representative.
