Hi,

Does anybody out there know of a standard way of measuring database
performance ?

The Transaction Processing Council (a consortium of hardware / software
vendors) has standardized on a benchmark called TPC-A. If there is sufficient
interest I can post information to the net otherwise mail me privately and I'll
send you what I can. Be aware that TPC-A measures the entire interactive TP
environemnt (not just the database). TPC-B is (being?) developed to provide a
benchmark of just the back-end database.

Is this the kind of info you are looking for?
