[comp.databases] INTERFACE between MOTIF and ORACLE RDBMS?

tyc@philabs.philips.com (Ting-Yu Cheng) (09/25/90)

We are trying to build a prototype using X/Motif on SUN SPARCstation
and were planning on using ORACLE as a relational database for
the application. However, there is no interface
between ORACLE and Motif since SUN is not supporting Motif currently.
Can some one out there help us identify a RDBMS having interface
with Motif on SUN? Or if anyone has the experience in using C programs
which are invoked by Motif and has SQL code embedded to talk to
RDBMS, especially, ORACLE? Or if someone use Open Look and INGRES
and know there is actually an interface for them?

Appreciate any help in this regard. Thanks

Unify Corp. has several solutions for this configuration:

1. ACCELL/SQL running under Motif on the Sun SPARCstation 1+ on top of the
Unify 2000 RDBMS. Available now.

2. ACCELL/SQL running under Motif on the Sun SPARCstation 1+ on top of the
Oracle 6.0 RDBMS. Available now.

ACCELL/SQL is an advanced application development environment including a
full-featured 4GL, a WYSIWYG application (or form) generator, and associated
utilities. It allows the developer to write an application once, then deploy
it across many databases, including U2000, Oracle, Sybase and Informix.
