I am developing a portable, dynamic ESQL/C service subroutine library. Having scanned a copy of the X/OPEN Data Management Portability Guide (August 1988), it has dawned on me that there are no defined standards for passing host language variables to and from dynamic ESQL statements (or at least there weren't any in 1988). The X/OPEN guide does specify the necessary components of the SQLCA structure but does not contain any reference to SQLDA - the structure used by several ESQL products (such as TUXEDO ESQL, ORACLE Pro*C and INFORMIX ESQL) to identify source and target host variables for dynamic ESQL statements. Can anyone tell me if any standards have now been reached for dynamic ESQL ? If so, please forward me any related info. Many thanks ... Nick Rumble Research Dept, Tetra UK Limited.
