I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive multiuser database package for use with Interactive UNIX 2.2 (System V). The only things I've been able to find are SCO FoxBase, dbMAN V, and Recital. I am tempted to get Recital since I can get a great deal on it if I order before the end of this week (9/28). I queried the net about Recital a few weeks ago and got mixed comments. I'd appreciate any advice anyone out there might have on choosing a low-end database package... First of all is the money you have to spend on the goods. Their ain't no more! Second of all is who are the users and what will they have to to do?? ( make a datbase, complete a select statment, write a report ?? What ?? ) Thirdly is a minor point, but how long is it ment to last? or to re-pay for it's life. ( maybe your Bean Counter may assist you. ) Lastley, and with assurane tha you have seen many Databases in shope's before, what do you require/won't/wish-for from this DataBase. ( I recommend that you spend some time on this point !! ) Wat ever YOU select I wish you every enjoyment with it. SEan S.
