[comp.databases] 4GLs for 386 Machines

oneill@maggie.slcs.slb.com (Dennis O'Neill) (10/10/90)

This is my first posting to this newsgroup so please forgive me if this
topic has been beaten to death lately.

We have an application group in our company that is interested in using
a 4GL for their next product development. For a variety of reasons, they
have decided that their hardware platform will be a 386-based
PC-compatible clone. They do have some flexibility as far as OS is
concerned; DOS, OS/2, or a Unix clone may be acceptable if the tools,
environment, price, etc. is right. I'd appreciate it if the net could
provide me with some information and opinions as what an appropriate
vehicle might be.

Please respond via e-mail, and I will summarize the posting for the group.

Thank you.

Dennis
