[comp.databases] Project Management

jbg@qualcomm.com (Jeff Gehlhaar) (10/18/90)

I am posting this on the behalf of our MIS manager. Guess we are looking for
information on project management software.

Does anyone out there know of a good Project Management package for Unix or
VMS? We have a need for project resource planning and reporting and budget vs
actual reporting for R & D and Government projects.

We currently have two microvaxes and a Solbourne (a Sun Clone) on which we
could run this software although we would much prefer to run it on the
Solbourne. We use Oracle for all our applications and would like for the
project management software to use Oracle also, but again we are open to
other ideas and solutions.

Any information would be appreciated by us both. Please post responses as this
may be of general interest. We can both be contacted via e-mail or by phone if
the information is too detailed etc. Thanks in advance.

There was just a major release that may be of interest to you.

Primivera just released a NEW version of MicroTrak called:
SuperTrak that is available under Unix/Xenix.

It appears to be a very high-end package and well written. We
have a civil enginerring firm running it.
