I have purchased SCO's Open Desktop as part of an evaluation of relational database systems. For a great price you get Ingres included together with all the other goodies. My question to the net and to SCO in particular is what will SCO's strategy be when it comes to keep up to date with Ingres releases? It seems from talking to Ingres that they don't really have anything to do with the SCO package. Does this mean that SCO now owns source code and will be responsible for upgrades. Right now SCO is shipping ODT with version 6.1 of Ingres. When talking to the guys at Ingres they inform me that their current version for 386/486 is 6.2 with 6.3 (which has a lot of new stuff) coming soon. Also they told me that 6.1 has some known bugs that 6.2 has taken care of. So again: Will you guys at SCO keep up to date with Ingres versions or will we have to pay Ingres huge amount of dollars to ensure version upgrades? ====================================== Anders Nicolausson National Systems Manager Construction Market Data, Inc.
