Hello Wizards, Nerds and Academics....
This is a plea for *HELP*! ....my company has just made an
Ingres 6.3 purchase for a sun SPARC station....and although I'm
familiar with embedded c and open SQL...i don't know a bloody thing
about the Ingres ABF/4gl ...and of course an edict has been
handed down that *ALL* of us ...(read the lips: I) will have to
use ABF so that it will be more readable for other folks that will
be assigned to the project in 1991...
(when the 'budgets' open up...) Oh well...I've lived through worse!
....however does *ANYONE* out there have some old Ingres
4gl code to flash me....at this point...i just need some sort of real
world example to keep me on the right path. The 1 and only reference
manual that i have has got examples that are a bit too simplistic....for example
I haven't come across any record locking or error handling routines.
..which I undoubtedly will need.
...If for any number of reasons, noone can spare some old code
samples...can someone point me in the right direction in order to find
more complete generic examples??? <grin>
(yet another planned project gets funding!!!!)
...i've heard rumors about an ingres user's
group...can anyone validate them?
