I need some help in selecting a RDBMS for either an IBM 3081/VM or the Pyramid MIServer 4/2 running OSX 5.XX. The software must have the following: 1. Ada interface, 2. A user-friendly tool for creating input windows, 3. A user-friendly tool for creating a database. If possible, I would like to have (a) SQL ANSI standard (b) portability (without any changes) to other platforms. Am I asking for too much? Some managers here would like to use FOCUS. We have FOCUS 6.0 7747.24 Putlevel 9002 installed on the IBM/VM. Is FOCUS a relational database management system? How does it compare to Oracle and Informix? FOCUS with Ada will work for sequential files only. How serious is this limitation? Oracle does not have an Ada interface for IBM/VM and is not available for VM. I think INFORMIX is only available for UNIX and DOS. Can someone recommend other software packages which can meet my criteria? I really would appreciate any suggestions and /or possible solutions. Thank you Claus Franzkowiak cfranz@wrdis01.af.mil cfranz@wrdis01.arpa U.S.A. (912) 926-1954 work phone U.S.A. (912) 922-6847 home --
