[comp.databases] To 4th Dimension users/programmer

2fmjbeach@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu (11/20/90)

hello all
I am a current user of 4th Dimension. I have been using this program for more
than 2.5 years.

I have some questions for all the 4D users out there.

1. Is there any reference book for the 4D end users besides the manuals tht
comes with the program? Some users of my program always complain about
not having a reference book for my program (especially doing quick
   reports and quick labels).

2. Is there any 4D user group out there? I know tht Acius can be contacted
through CompuServe but then, tht cost $$$.....

3. Is anyone out there want/willing to form a 4D usergroup?

well tht is all the questions I have for now.
bye
thanks in advance

There is a book in the works by Eric Hall which is purported to be very
good. The original publishing date had been November 1990, but I've heard
that's been pushed back to February or March 1991. I think the publisher
will be either Tab or Sybex.

There are lots of 4D user groups in various parts of the country. I'm
not aware of one in Kansas, however. If you're a serious user of 4D,
you should establish an account on Compuserve, where an incredibly
active and helpful ACIUS forum exists (it's almost an online user
group). If there's a local group in Kansas, that's where you'll
hear about it; if not and you want to form one, that's where you'll find
the largest number of interested people.
