Hi, has anybody made experiences (positive or negative) with the SQL-Interpreter CQL by Machine Independent, perhaps in combination with the ISAM-manager c-tree by Faircom. I would like to know some details about: o the power of the SQL-Interpreter (I wish to use interactively SQL Statements in my C-source), o how flexible is the window manager PASS (resizeable overlapping windows, pop-up/pull-down menus, mouse support, many different form entries?), o the practicability of the report generator (R)PAINT, o is version 6.0 the current one? Or would you recommend to use an other system for embedded SQL? Thanks in advance -- Thomas (webus@cs.uni-sb.de) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + ________) / / + + ( / / / / / + + / /__ _ ____ _ _ / /| / _ /_ _ __ + + (_/ /_(_)_/ / (_(_|_/ ) (__/ |__/_(-'_/__)_(-'_/ ' + + + + DOMAIN: webus@cs.uni-sb.de UUCP: ...!uunet!unido!fb14vax!webus + +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Faircom is coming out with a SQL engine, although I would give them some time to debug it before trying to use it. What is wrong with CQL? I have always found it awkward to work with. More objectively, there is no support for compound keys (in the version that we purcahased about a year ago). --Jim
