Yes to both questions.  

1.  "Internationalization" is supported by allowing message files to be 
    created in the desired language (ASCII characters only).  These message 
    files can be processed by the application for the desired effect.  

2.  JAM v5.0 supports screens up to 255 character columns in width with 
    255 rows.  132-column mode worked in my shallow experiment.
