I'm interested in getting some opinions on Relational Databases that run on a Sun-4 Computer. We are interested in a RDBMS that has the ability to process files of commands since we will be converting existing applications that used an DBMS to run on the new system we select. (The old system did not use SQL, so we are not currently restricted by language since the old application will have to be rewritten in any case.) The availability of a report writer as either part of the product or as an add on feature is also important for the purposes of our work. The information I am particularly interested in is: 1. Cost 2. Speed and resource utilization 3. Features 4. Ease of use 5. Experiences people have had with the product. (Knowing the name of the product would be nice also. :-) ) I will summarize the results and post them if there is sufficient interest. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

dBASE IV for Sun has just been released. It certainly fits the requirement of supporting a procedural command language. DISCLAIMER: I'm working on dBASE IV for Macintosh. --Cy-- cy@dbase.a-t.com
